Arcadia by Tom Stoppard is, in my view, the best play written in the last 25 years.
Like many works I have recommended on this site, it has a British bent. There are other similarities as well.
Romance, Lord Byron, fractals, Capability Brown's gardens, math, tortises, time travel, philosophy, the nature of love and time. What more do you want?
I've seen the play performed once and have tickets to see it again this week. Reading the play is just as satisfying because Stoppard's language is so beautiful. Here.
And a site with more Arcadia information than almost anyone would want Here.
